Project Type : Product design

Instructor : Herbert L. Enns

ARCH 7000/10 : Winter 2016, University of Manitoba.

This project was designed in my Live/Work: Product Design and Manufacture class at U of M.

My take on the product design project, a table, is one that utilizes each unit that can be rearranged into multiple configurations. This table combines with others like itself to create a chair, chaise lounge, a shelf. The main unit is composed of a section of a helix composed of three anodized steel isosceles trapezoids connected with plywood.

The trapezoidal shaped design with the strategic screw holes allows several units to be joined together to form a helix structured a bookshelf. The form of the shelf is entirely arbitrary for the users.
